Is your resume getting you the offers for interviews you were expecting? The resume is not going to get you the job, only the interview. AND, if you are not getting interviews, it makes sense to look at your resume.
Different employers want different formats. Oregon Health Science University wants ONLY chronological format resumes. Some employers want to see your skills and accomplishments near the top of the resume followed by examples of your strengths. When possible, find someone who can tell you if the potential employer has a preference. Our Employment Access Center always has someone who will help you as well as handouts to guide you.
ACCELERATED JOB SEARCH CANDIDATES:
There are over 30 temp services in Portland. Some of them are temporary work only, some are short term assignments and some are temporary to hire for long term. Which services are a match for you and have you applied with them? Homework: research two temp services and decide if you think they would be a match for you.
